How do credit unions differ from banks?

Credit unions are non-profit entities formed by communities of people to help each other.  "People helping people" is the credit union philosophy.  Unlike banks, excess earnings are returned to members in the form of high-interest savings and low rate loans.

A volunteer board of directors, elected by the members, governs the credit union. With their vote, each member has a direct impact on the direction of the credit union. This governance model allows for some of the most competitive savings and loan rates in the market -- which is why it's great to be a credit union member.  Apply today.
