Building a better community

Building a better community.

We're in this together

At Rio Grande Credit Union, we do more than live and work in the communities we serve – we also give back to them. As a not-for-profit financial institution, our gains contribute to better services for our members and opportunities for all of our neighbors to elevate their quality of life. RGCU forges partnerships with businesses, sports teams and nonprofits to enhance not only the member experience, but to do our part improving lives throughout our local community.

Through the support of non-profit organizations, significant financial literacy efforts in the schools, and hundreds of hours of volunteerism, Rio Grande continually brings untold value into our communities, positively affecting thousands of lives.

This isn't something new. We've been doing it since 1953.

We focus on helping underserved communities build the capabilities to think creatively, problem-solve and innovate—to succeed today and lead tomorrow. We target our support for education in these three areas:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM)
  • Early Childhood Literacy
  • Financial Education

Health & Welfare

We support innovative solutions to our communities’ most pressing needs—removing access barriers and ensuring children and families have the food, shelter and safety they need to learn, grow and thrive. We target our support in these three areas:

  • Food
  • Poverty reduction
  • Shelter & affordable housing
  • Safety (including first responders)
