Sometimes texting is just easier than calling.

Did you know you can contact our staff via text message? Simply send a text message to our main phone number, 505-262-1401, to have your general questions answered by an actual staff member. Get personalized, quick and convenient responses from our friendly staff. 

Texting is free,1 fast, and an easy way to get your general questions answered. All you need is a smartphone or tablet that has text message (SMS) service enabled (your device does not have to be Internet-capable). No personal information is exchanged, such as Username, Password or full account number.

  • Look out for an automated response, confirming we received your message.
  • Receive a personalized answer to your question from one of our staff members. We may need to confirm your identity by asking a few questions.

Text Banking

Access balances and transactions in your account with our convenient, fast Text Banking service.

Text banking allows you to retreive your account balances and recent account history by sending a text to Rio Grande Credit Union.


To enroll in Text Banking, log into the Mobile Banking app and then select the SMS link from the menu and follow the directions. You may enroll up to 3 mobile numbers.

How to Use Text Banking

Once your mobile phone is enrolled, simply send a text message to 86020 using one of the following commands:

B to retreive balances

H to retreive the five most recent transactions for all accounts

H acct to retreive the five most recent transactions for a specific account (like S01, etc)

MENU to retreive the list of available command options

STOP to deactivate Text Banking

Rio Grande Credit Union's TellerPhone, our free automated account system, is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week, and can be accessed from any touch-tone phone.

To access your account using TellerPhone, call 505-262-1401 and dial 1 or call toll free at 1-877-742-8505.

If you are using TellerPhone for the first time, you will be prompted to enter your RGCU Member Number and a 4-15 digit audio access code (similar to a PIN or password). You will also be asked to verify the primary account holder’s Social Security number.

Main Menu Codes

Press 1 for Account Balance

  • This will reflect the applicable accounts

Press 2 for Card Services

  • Press 1 to activate a card
  • Press 2 to deactivate or to report a card lost or stolen

Press 3 for Account History

  • This will reflect the applicable accounts

Press 4 to Transfer Funds or Make a Payment

  • Press 1 to transfer funds immediately
  • Press 2 to make an immediate crossmember transfer
  • Press 3 for payments
  • Press 4 to hear existing scheduled transfers

Press 5 for Share or Loan Withdrawal (requires verification)

  • This will reflect the applicable accounts

Press 6 to Stop a Payment

  • Press 1 to place a stop payment on a specific check
  • Press 2 to place a stop payment on a range of checks
  • Press 3 for stop payment inquiry

Press 7 to Change Your Access Code

  • Enter a new 4-15 digit access code

Quick tips and Universal Codes

At any time, you can press the following codes.

  • Press 3 and the * key to return to the main menu.
  • Press the * key to return to the previous menu.
  • Press the # key to repeat an option.
  • Press 9 and the * key to enter a different account number.
  • Press 0 to be transfered to one of our representatives during regular business hours.
  • To end your TellerPhone call, simply hang up.
  • Press 8* at any time to use Voice Response
