Your RGCU card and Apple PayTM will change the way you pay

With Apple Pay, you can easily make purchases at participating merchants with virtual cards on your iPhone 6 or later, iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation or later), iPad Air 2 or later, iPad mini 3 or later, and Apple Watch.

While Apple Pay offers an exciting way to make purchases on-the-go, you still get all the rewards, benefits and protections your card provides.

Get started in 5 easy steps!


Step 1

Make sure your iPhone 6 or later, iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation or later), iPad Air 2 or later, iPad mini 3 or later, or Apple Watch has the latest version of iOS.


Step 2

Go to settings. Select Passbook & Apple Pay.

Select Add a Credit or Debit Card.


Step 4

Almost at the finish line. Take a picture of your card or manually enter the card information.


Step 5

Complete the verification process (if prompted).1 And . . . Done! Your RGCU card is now enrolled!

 


1 - If your iTunes account address on file does not match the address on file for your credit card, you may be prompted to call us for verification as a final step before enrollment.

Frequently asked questions


What is Apple Pay™?

Apple Pay will change how you pay with breakthrough contactless payment technology and unique security features built right into your Apple™ device allowing you to make purchases with your iPhone® iPad or Apple Watch by holding your phone near a contactless reader.


What do I need to get Apple Pay?

To pay in stores you’ll need an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. To pay within apps you’ll need an iPad Air 2 or iPad Mini 3 with a Touch ID™ or passcode on your device and an iCloud® account.


Is Apple Pay Free?

Yes, there is no charge to use Apple Pay; however, depending on your data plan, message and data rates may apply.


Which RGCU Credit Union card will I be able to use with Apple Pay?

RGCU cardholders will be able to use their favorite RGCU credit and debit cards.


How do I change my default card to my RGCU card?

The credit or debit card associated with your iTunes® account or the first card you add to Passbook® is your default card. To change your default card:

  1. Go to Settings > Passbook & Apple Pay.
  2. Tap Default Card.
  3. Choose a new card.

 


Can I use multiple RGCU cards with Apple Pay?

Yes, you can load up to eight cards to Apple Pay.


Will the card image in Apple Pay match my physical card?

In cases the card in Apple Pay will not match your physical card. In these cases, you will see an image of a card with our RGCU logo on it as a symbol of your card.


Are my payments safe with Apple Pay?

Yes, when using Apple Pay, your RGCU card number isn't stored on your phone or given to the merchant. A unique Digital Account Number is created specifically for that device. Additionally, you will be required to use either your fingerprint with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor or a secure passcode to complete a purchase.


Is my privacy and personal information protected?

Yes, Apple Pay doesn't store your credit or debit card number on your device; you never reveal your name, card number or security code to merchants.


Why am I being asked to call RGCU to verify my card?

If your iTunes account address does not match the address we have on file for your credit card, you may be prompted to call us for verification as a final step before enrollment. Please call the number provided so we can verify your card, then look for a Passbook message letting you know that your card is ready for use with Apple Pay.


Where can I use Apple Pay?

You can use Apple Pay at more than 220,000 locations. See a list a complete listing of Apple Pay merchants at www.apple.com/apple-pay/. You may also look for these Apple Pay symbols at the checkout.

How do I get a refund for something I purchased with Apple Pay?

You’re able to make a return for a purchase made with Apple Pay to your account. Upon return, you may be asked to provide to the cashier the last four digits of your Device Account Number instead of the last few digits of your Card number. To find the last four digits of your Device Account Number for your Card, go to Passbook, tap the card and then select.


What if my RGCU card is lost or stolen?

Please call us immediately and mention that you’re an Apple Pay customer. We’ll cancel your card so that no more purchases can be made. You should also remove the lost or stolen card from Passbook using the “Remove Card” option. When you receive your replacement card, you will need to add the new card to Apple Pay before making any Apple Pay purchases.


What happens when my card expires? When I receive my renewal card will I have to update Apple Pay with the new expiration date?

When a RGCU card enrolled in Apple Pay expires, the new expiration date is automatically updated in Apple Pay for you. You’ll be able to use your card in Apple Pay to make transactions before receiving your new physical card.


Can I opt out of Apple Pay at any time?

Yes, adding your credit or debit cards to Apple Pay is your choice; you can add and remove cards when needed. To remove your cards, go into "Settings," open "Passbook & Apple Pay," select the card you want to delete and tap "Remove Card."


Will I still earn rewards and benefits from my card when I pay using Apple Pay?

Of course, you will! You’ll still get all the benefits and protections that your credit or debit card provides. If you currently earn rewards on purchases, you’ll continue to earn them for purchases made with Apple Pay.


Can I use other cards besides my default card to make purchases?

Yes, just tap on the stack of cards at the bottom of the screen to view your other cards, select the one you would like to pay with and use your fingerprint or passcode to complete the purchase like normal.


I’m having a problem with my device’s software or hardware. What should I do?

If you’re having difficulty with your software or hardware, please contact Apple.


If I sell or give my Apple device to someone else, what will happen to the information on my device?

When selling or giving away your Apple product you should make sure you delete all digital accounts in Apple Pay. You may also reset your phone to factory settings which will also remove all digital accounts. If for any reason, you have forgotten, contact RGCU and we will be able to perform this action on your behalf.
