Rio Grande Credit Union is recognized as a distinguished leader in implementing family friendly policies in the workplace.
For the fourth year in a row, RGCU has earned Platinum level distinction for its workplace policies by Family Friendly New Mexico, a statewide initiative developed to recognize employers that have adopted policies that give New Mexico businesses an advantage in recruiting and retaining the best employees.
The Family Friendly New Mexico initiative offers training, support and resources to businesses on how to implement family friendly policies; provides recognition to businesses and organizations that offer their employees family friendly benefits; and, acts as a resource and clearinghouse of information for businesses and community leaders as they develop policies on issues such as paid family leave and childcare assistance.
To reach the Platinum award level (Distinguished Leader), recipients meet at least two family friendly policy in each of the first four categories plus one policy in each of the three Platinum level categories and receive the family friendly business award seal and a certificate of recognition that they can use in their business materials and promotion. Some of the programs RGCU has in place include:
- Paid parental leave
- Day off inxentive for volunteering in the community
- Organizational policies pertaining to diversity and inclusion
- Tuition reimbursement
- Paid sick leave
