Dine on a Dime: Spooky Hand Meatloaf
This meatloaf shaped like a hand looks horrifying but tastes amazing — a spooky showstopper for your Halloween dinner!
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs ground beef or turkey
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Onion slices or slivered almonds (for “fingernails”)
- Extra ketchup or BBQ sauce (for “blood” glaze)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
- On a lined baking tray, shape the mixture into a creepy hand — palm, fingers, and even a wrist bone if you’re ambitious.
- Press onion slivers or almond slices into the fingertips for fingernails.
- Coat the “hand” with ketchup or BBQ sauce for a bloody finish.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes or until fully cooked. Let it rest 5 minutes before serving.
Optional: Serve on a bed of mashed “brains” (mashed potatoes with food coloring swirled in) for added horror.
