Faster loan process coming

At Rio Grande Credit Union, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our service. As we begin to emerge from the pandemic, we are loaning money to more and more members every day. We are making loans online, over the phone, through VideoCONNECT, and in our lobbies. And everyone wants great service, fast answers and even faster closing of those loans.

Our professionals in our branches currently help members with loan applications. But their work doesn’t stop there. They also help members open new checking and savings accounts, IRAs, help with notary services, get access to safe deposit boxes, help with transactions, and on and on.

We now serve over 36,000 members. As we continue to grow, we serve more and more each and every day with the expectation that we do it fast, friendly and accurately.

That’s why, in an effort to provide faster and more accurate service, we are shifting the way we do things. We are centralizing our loan department so they can help more members faster. It will allow our loan professionals to concentrate on the things they do best: making loans. It will make things faster when you apply through our online channels and over the phone. And it will allow our branch professionals to continue doing what they do best: serving our members with their everyday account needs.

It will mean a few changes in our lobbies when it comes to member loans. Personal interaction is still an important component to building relationships with our members. While there will still be someone in every lobby to guide you through the loan process, loan officers may be located at another location. You may be asked to talk with a loan professional from a private office over the phone or a video chat.

Remember, we are making these changes to provide faster and better service for you and for your families. You will begin to see some of the adoption of this new system in mid-March. As we become more and more efficient, so too will our processes. Essentially, we are providing a quicker path to making your dreams come true.
